Adding this to your own calendar
Rather than manually re-entering these dates, both Google Calendar and Outlook have a built-in “public holidays” subscription option (in Google Calendar: Settings → Add calendar → Browse calendars of interest; in Outlook: Calendar → Add calendar → Holidays) that will automatically pull the correct UK bank holidays, including Scotland- and Northern Ireland-specific dates once you select the right region. This keeps your calendar current for future years too, without needing to check back manually.
Why there’s no single “UK calendar”
It’s a common assumption that there’s one master UK bank holiday list — there isn’t. England and Wales share one calendar, Scotland has its own (set by the Scottish Government), and Northern Ireland has its own again (adding St Patrick’s Day and the Battle of the Boyne holiday to the England-and-Wales base). The table above merges all three so you can see the full national picture at a glance, but for calendar subscriptions or contract purposes, always select your specific nation.
For the detail behind any of these dates, see our nation guides for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, or use our annual leave planning tool to plan long weekends around them.
